Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how [Company Legal Name] ("Commentful", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit our website or purchase a founding membership. For privacy questions, contact hello@commentful.co.

2. Data we collect

  • Purchase data. When you buy a founding membership, our payment processor Stripe collects your name, email address, and payment details. We receive your name, email, and transaction status — never your full card number.
  • Contact data. If you email us, we keep the correspondence to answer you and improve the product.
  • Usage data. With your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the website (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). See "Cookies" below.

3. How we use data

  • To process your purchase, manage your subscription, and honor refunds.
  • To send you product updates about your founding membership and launch progress. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
  • To improve our website and marketing (analytics and advertising measurement; you can opt out via the consent banner).
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, fraud prevention).

4. Cookies and consent

Essential cookies (such as remembering your cookie choice) are always active. Analytics and advertising cookies — for example a web analytics tool or the Meta Pixel — are active by default and are used to measure how the site is used and how our ads perform. You can opt out at any time by clicking "Decline" on the consent banner, or by clearing your browser storage for this site to make the banner reappear.

5. Who we share data with

  • Stripe — payment processing (Stripe privacy policy).
  • Email and hosting providers — to operate the website and communicate with you.
  • Analytics and advertising providers (such as Meta) — unless you opt out via the consent banner.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Data connected through Meta (after launch)

When the Service launches, connecting your Facebook or Instagram accounts will involve processing data from Meta's APIs (such as page comments and commenter public profile information) solely to provide the Service — replying to and moderating comments on your behalf. We will process this data in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms, will not sell it, and will delete it when you disconnect your account or on request. An updated version of this policy with full details will be published before launch.

7. Data retention

We keep purchase records for as long as required by tax and accounting law. Correspondence and marketing data are kept until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@commentful.co. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced to subscribers by email and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
